Babcock University Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State
has officially debunked a certificate shared online by comedian and content creator Carter Efe, labeling the document an absolute fake. In a swift public disclaimer, the institution clarified that the purported credentials did not originate from its campus and warned the public against the fraudulent document.
Management released the official statement on Monday to counter public claims made by the media personality. During a recent interview with content creator Egungun of Lagos, he asserted that he held a First Class Biochemistry degree from the institution.
Doubling down after the interview, the content creator—whose real name is Oderhohwo Joseph Efe—uploaded an undergraduate certificate to X (formerly Twitter) as proof of his 2023 graduation.
However, Babcock University quickly flagged the document, pointing out glaring discrepancies that completely violate the institution’s official academic and administrative standards.
In a major twist, Babcock pointed out that the document exposed itself, noting that the school has never used the term “First Class Upper” in its entire history.
Management emphasized that valid academic excellence is only recognized via official transcripts from the Registrar’s office. For the record, the university stated that the only legitimate title it awards is “First Class Honours.”

The institution made it clear that it has zero tolerance for academic fraud, vowing that anyone caught using fake credentials for jobs or benefits will be prosecuted.
In an accompanying social media post, the institution disclosed that it is already taking steps to pursue legal action. Babcock reiterated that the certificate circulated by Carter Efe is an absolute fake and will not be tolerated.
