The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic aircraft crash in Ondo State, which claimed the lives of 25 personnel of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and other passengers on board.

According to an official statement released on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, by the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, a formal letter of condolence has been dispatched to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke. In the dispatch, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the anti-narcotics agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), conveyed the heartfelt sympathies of the NDLEA’s entire leadership, officers, and men to the grieving military command and the families of the fallen heroes.

Marwa described the news of the crash as devastating, noting that it was received across the agency with profound grief. He highly praised the Nigerian Air Force for consistently demonstrating exceptional patriotism, gallantry, and an unwavering commitment to the defence and security of the nation.

The NDLEA boss emphasized that the loss of dedicated officers who gave their lives to national service is a terrible blow, not only to the Air Force but also to the entire country and the national security architecture.

“In this moment of deep sorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with the grieving families of the fallen heroes, as well as the entire NAF family,” Marwa stated, praying that Almighty God would comfort their loved ones, strengthen the Nigerian Air Force, and grant the departed eternal rest.
