FOUR-LEGGED HEROES: Rescue Dogs Lead Search in Quake-Stricken Venezuela

International search and rescue teams have touched down in Venezuela following a series of devastating earthquakes, with specialized rescue dogs emerging as the frontline heroes of the operation.

According to reports on Thursday, July 2, more than 100 highly trained canines are actively deployed across disaster zones.

The rescue dogs are critical assets for international delegations arriving from Spain, Mexico, and Peru, navigating unstable debris to locate survivors trapped beneath the rubble.

It should be recalled that international rescue teams began touching down in Venezuela on Thursday, June 25, 2026, just one day after the devastating twin earthquakes struck the country.

An extensive international mobilization followed immediately with over 44 urban search and rescue (USAR) teams from 27 countries arriving and deploying over the subsequent days through the weekend to assist in the disaster zones.
