Federal High Court Discharges Suspended DCP Abba Kyari in 23-Count Charge

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice James Omotosho, has cleared suspended DCP Abba Kyari of all 23 counts of alleged non-declaration of assets.

Charged alongside his brothers for allegedly using false affidavits to hide property ownership, the court ultimately cleared Kyari after the prosecution failed to prove their claims.

Justice Omotosho ruled that the NDLEA failed to prove its case, citing a lack of evidence to back the charges of non-declaration of assets against Kyari and his brothers.

Justice Omotosho noted that ownership must be proven through traditional history, valid titles, or clear acts of possession, standards the prosecution failed to meet.

The court ruled the prosecution offered no evidence to show that Ramatu Kyari’s properties in Fountain Estate belonged to the suspended DCP.
