A Legacy of Unity: HRH Emir Isa Abubakar Umar II Leads Massive Cemetery Cleanup; Advocates for Peace and Selfless Service

AWE, January 24, 2026 – In a distinguished display of inclusive leadership and community resolve, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Awe, Alh. Dr. Isa Abubakar Umar II, personally led his subjects in a comprehensive sanitation exercise at the Awe Grand Cemetery. The Emir’s hands-on approach underscored his reputation for calm, knowledgeable, and unifying governance.

However, in his Royal Appreciation and Blessings
during the exercise , His Royal Highness expressed his profound gratitude to the people of Awe for honoring his invitation. He described the collective effort as a form of “Sadakatul Jariya” (a continuous charity), noting that such selfless service brings eternal rewards.

The Emir extended his heartfelt appreciation not only to those who performed the physical labor but also to the generous individuals who contributed water, food, and financial support to sustain the workers. “May Allah reward every contribution with abundant blessings,” the Monarch prayed.
A Message of Pride
Concluding the event, the Emir expressed immense pride in the people of the Awe Kingdom for their unwavering unity and cooperation.

The initiative saw a remarkable turnout from the religious community, with prominent Imams and delegations from various Islamic organizations, including the Darika and Izala movements, working side-by-side to restore the sacred grounds.

His Royal Highness, Emir Isa Abubakar II, joined by Alhaji Adamu Salihu (Madakin Awe), Chairman of the Cemetery Cleanup Committee.

Other high-profile attendees included Abdullahi Mustapha, Sa’in Awe and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC); the Chief Imam of Awe, Malam Rabiu Shuaibu. Others are Malam Isa Jibrin and Malam Musa Shuaibu, both Imams from the Izala group.

Sooth News reached out to the Chairman of the committee , Alhaji Adamu Salihu who emphasized the initiative’s sustainability. ‘We intend for this to be a continuous exercise,’ Salihu stated. ‘Insha Allah, we plan to reconvene at the graveyard for the same purpose within the next two weeks”.
