In a strategic move to deepen collaboration with the traditional institution, Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has held a closed-door meeting with the six First-Class Emirs of the state at the Government House, Bauchi.

In a press release signed by Adulwahab Muhammad, Senior Special Assistant on Communications to the Governor said that the meeting, convened at the instance of the Governor, brought together the following royal fathers:

  • His Royal Highness, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, Emir of Bauchi
  • His Royal Highness, Umar Faruk II, Emir of Katagum
  • His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ahmad Sulaiman, Emir of Misau
  • His Royal Highness, Alhaji Nuhu Ahmad Wabi, Emir of Jama’are
  • His Royal Highness, Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya, Emir of Ningi
  • His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, Emir of Dass

Speaking to Government House correspondents after the meeting, the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Aminu Hammayo, said the engagement was part of the administration’s ongoing consultations with traditional leaders, particularly in light of the recent creation of additional emirates in the state.

“The Governor emphasized the need for synergy between the government and the traditional institution to ensure smooth integration and effective governance,” Hammayo stated.

Governor Bala Mohammed urged the Emirs to continue operating within the confines of the law and to support the government’s efforts in promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across Bauchi State.

This engagement underscores the administration’s recognition of the traditional institution as a vital partner in governance and community development.
