Commuters get relief as Lagos reopens Ogudu-Ifako bridge

The Lagos State Government reopened the Ogudu-Ifako Bridge on Tuesday, 30th September, 2025 following the completion of repair works on 400 meters of its four expansion joints which lasted for 73 days. According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a section of the bridge was closed to vehicular traffic on June 28 to enable construction. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (Pengassan) has directed its members to cut gas supply to the Dangote refinery. Friday, September 26, the association said the refinery laid off some of its staff members, noting that the group was working to “resolve” the issue. A couple died in an auto crash in Mabushi area, Abuja on Wednesday when they were chased by roadside touts, popularly known as ‘agbero’ It was learnt that one of the touts also died in the incident.
