Logistics Giants Unite: Chief Tete, Dr. Mugabo & Saaka Dumba to Anchor Landmark CILT Nigeria Summit

The upcoming 2026 CILT Nigeria National Conference and Annual General Meeting is set to become the epicenter of African supply chain diplomacy, following the high-profile confirmation of two of the continent’s most influential transport leaders.

Dr. Patrick Mugabo, FCILT, the newly elected International Vice President (Africa) and Chairman of the CILT Africa Forum, will join forces with Alhaji Mohammed Saaka Dumba, FCILT, President of CILT Ghana, as Distinguished Special Guests for the regional summit.

The landmark gathering will take place from October 21 to 23, 2026, at the iconic Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja.

The conference will officially commence with formal welcome remarks delivered by Dr. Mugabo. Drawing from his expansive background as the CEO of Value Group and a pivotal architect of East African supply chain frameworks, Dr. Mugabo’s address is expected to outline a unified operational blueprint for African logistics under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework.

Chief Teete Owusu-Nortey (FCILT, FGIPS) is a distinguished global logistics expert from Ghana who made history as the first African International President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) International since its inception in 1919.

Having completed a landmark two-year term as the global head from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2025, he transitioned to his current role as the Immediate Past International President. He is set to serve as a Special Guest.

Hosted under the leadership of CILT Nigeria’s National President, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, mni, OFR,/MFR, NPoM, FCIPM, FCILT, the 2026 assembly centres on the pressing theme:
“Transforming Nigeria’s Transport and Logistics Systems for Shared Prosperity and Sustainable Infrastructure.”

The summit is projected to draw over 500 top-tier policymakers, maritime experts, aviation executives, and transport researchers to the federal capital.

Industry analysts at Sooth News note that having both the international continental chairman and a prominent national president on the same stage signals a massive step toward harmonizing professional regulations across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The presence of Chief Tete, Dr. Mugabo and Alhaji Dumba shifts the event from a localized annual meeting into a strategic powerhouse for continental trade integration.
With less than three weeks until the doors open in Abuja, delegate registration is rapidly closing.
Professionals and stakeholders looking to network with regional leaders can secure their attendance through the official CILT Nigeria Portal.
