Members of the Bauchi College of Arts and Science (BACAS) Old Students Association (BACAS OSA) have adopted a eight-member interim leadership to oversee the affairs of the association and facilitate the transition to an elected executive.
The development was one of the major outcomes of the just-concluded BACAS OSA Grand Convention, Reunion and Golden Jubilee Celebration held on Saturday at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi.
Announcing the composition of the interim leadership, Chairman of the Organising Committee for the 50th Golden Jubilee Celebration, Alhaji Yusuf Daudu Kaltungo (Katukan Kaltungo), said the committee was mandated, among other responsibilities, to organise an election that would usher in duly elected officials to manage the affairs of the association.
Captain Bala Jibrin was adopted as Chairman of the eight-member interim leadership. Other members are Alhaji Yusuf Daudu Kaltungo (Katukan Kaltungo), Mallam Bala Raqis Mohammed, Mallam Sadeeq Abubakar (Dandio), Mallam Sani Mohammed Sani, Dr. Lois Daniel Nanzing, Alhaji Kabiru Garba Aminu and Aisha Mohammed Aliyu.
In his acceptance remarks, Captain Jibrin thanked members for the confidence reposed in the new leadership and pledged to justify their trust.
He appealed for the support and cooperation of all BACAS OSA members to enable the team to successfully discharge its mandate and organise a credible transition in line with its terms of reference.
