The Nigerian Ports Economic Regulatory Agency is priming its corporate machinery to forge a strategic socio-economic alliance with the Aromire-Eko Empowerment Foundation, aiming to deploy targeted skills acquisition frameworks and stimulate youth employment pathways.
The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NPERA, Dr. Pius Akutah, MON, FCILT, disclosed this tactical community development drive while hosting the foundation’s executive delegation, led by its chief, Prince Sijuade Ojora, at the agency’s corporate headquarters in Lagos.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Akutah emphasized that NPERA prioritizes high-impact societal reinvestments, adding that the agency systematically leverages its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arms to create measurable socio-economic equity within its host communities.
He noted that the Aromire-Eko Foundation’s people-first philosophy directly mirrors NPERA’s core institutional commitment to rescuing vulnerable youth demographics through sustainable livelihood upgrades.
Moving forward, Akutah revealed that NPERA will aggressively evaluate definitive collaborative windows within the foundation’s upcoming development blueprints—with specific focus on technical training, industrial skills development, and structural material provisions—all engineered within the parameters of available agency assets and regulatory guidelines.
Lauding the foundation’s leadership, the NPERA chief commended Prince Sijuade for his visionary community mobilization strategies, describing the grassroots initiative as an exemplary model for local civic intervention.
To fast-track the operational rollout of the partnership, Dr. Akutah has directed the foundation’s executives to interface directly with the Director of Special Duties to lock down granular implementation frameworks, the outcome of which will guide definitive executive approvals by NPERA management.
Pitching the blueprint earlier, Prince Sijuade Ojora unpacked the foundation’s flagship empowerment architecture. The initiative is strategically engineered to open up lucrative economic pathways for local youths, specifically targeting high-yield technical skills training and job placement opportunities within the thriving port and shipping-related sectors.
Prince Sijuade explained that the alliance with NPERA is designed to secure critical training assets, operational materials, and structural backing. This intervention aims to arm community youth with specialized maritime skill sets, ultimately dealing a decisive blow to local unemployment figures.
Both leadership teams wrapped up the high-level engagement with mutual optimism, noting that the session effectively lays the concrete groundwork for a long-term, high-impact partnership dedicated to elevating community livelihoods, empowering young demographics, and driving sustainable regional development.
