The Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency (BASHCMA) has concluded its 2026 Strategic Retreat for its Governing Board and Management, renewing its commitment to improving operations and expanding access to affordable, quality healthcare across the state.

In his address during the engagement, Executive Secretary Alhaji Ibrahim Inuwa Duguri said the retreat reviewed the agency’s operations, identified areas for improvement and developed strategies for institutional growth.

He called for innovative, results-driven leadership and stronger collaboration among management, the Governing Board and partners.

The State Head of Service urged BASHCMA to measure success beyond enrolment figures by focusing on healthcare access, service quality, grievance resolution and protection from catastrophic health costs.

He called for a roadmap with measurable targets to expand coverage for vulnerable groups and strengthen quality assurance, digital systems, cybersecurity and data protection.

The Chairman of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Health, Hon. Lawal Dauda, and the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam, urged BASHCMA to expand coverage, strengthen partnerships and use reliable data to advance Universal Health Coverage.

Our Correspondent reports that the engagement drew participation from the board members, management and staff of BASHCMA, Health related MDAs and CSOs. Presentations were made by resource persons.
