The Bauchi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally ended political discussions with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), citing unfavourable conditions proposed during the engagement.

The State Chairman of the PDP, Pharmacist Sama’ila Adamu Burga, disclosed this at a press conference held at the party’s secretariat in Bauchi.
Burga explained that the talks were initiated following an invitation by the APC to Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, PDP members and other elected officials to consider joining the ruling party. He noted that the governor and party leadership participated in the discussions in good faith, reflecting their commitment to dialogue and political inclusiveness.
However, he said consultations revealed that key conditions—particularly those relating to party structure and sharing arrangements—were unacceptable to the PDP.
He added that the talks failed to reach a conclusive agreement and have now been discontinued, while assuring that the party remains mindful of electoral timelines and will continue to explore viable political options in the interest of its members and the people of Bauchi State.
