The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT Nigeria) has presented its inaugural ‘Legacy Awards’ to 23 veteran members, recognizing their longstanding contributions to the institution’s growth.
Honoring 23 industry titans with Legacy Awards, CILT Nigeria President Barr. (Mrs.) Mfon E. Usoro, FCILT, hosted an Awards and Gala Night on Thursday, October 23, at the Civic Centre in Lagos. The ceremony was a key part of the Institute’s Annual General Meeting and National Conference, which ran from October 22–24.
The Legacy Awards was the first of its kind introduced by the administration of Barr. Usoro, FCILT. The awards program aims to enhance professionalism among key players in the industry.
The recipients of the Legacy Awards are:
Dr. Eze Monday, FCILT; Prof. Kayode Oyesiku, FCILT; Prof. Iyiola Oni, FCILT; Mrs. Folake Soji-George, FCILT; Olori Vick Haastrup, FCILT; Amb. Dr. Kema Chikwe, FCILT; and Chief Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, FCILT.
Other honored recipients include Ibrahim Jibril, FCILT; Hajia Aisha Ali-Ibrahim, FCILT; Dr. Kayode Olagunju, FCILT; Mrs. Dabney Shall-Holma, FCILT; Chief (Mrs.) Carol Ufere, FCILT; and Maj. Gen. U. T. Usman (Rtd), FCILT.
The awards also featured Chief Adebayo Sarumi, FCILT; Francis Ehiguese, FCILT; Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, OFR, FCILT; Maj. Gen. Simeon Ibikunle (Rtd), FCILT; and Maj. Gen. Bolaji Salami (Rtd), FCILT. Other distinguished recipients included Dr. Aminu Yusuf, FCILT; Chief Tete, FCILT (the CILT International President); Engr. Nseyen Ebong, FCILT; Sir Igne Owums, FCILT; and Moji J. Abdulganiyu, FCILT.
Speaking at the event, CILT Nigeria President Barr. Mfon Usoro, FCILT, said the Legacy Awards would resonate for a long time. “The Legacy Award was introduced by our administration to honor special members and stakeholders whose uncommon contributions have helped to reposition and transform CILT in Nigeria and beyond,” she said.
