IGP Kayode Egbetokun Felicitates With Retired CP Fatai Owoseni On His Conferment As Atunlushe -Ilu Adini of Oyo State

The Nigeria Police Force joins the people of Oyo State in celebrating CP Fatai A. Owoseni (Rtd) following his installation as the Atunluse-Ilu Adini. Conferred by the highest Islamic authorities in the state, this honour recognizes a lifetime of distinguished service to national security and community development. The ceremony took place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Central Mosque, Ibadan, Oyo State.

For the NPF, this title serves as a proud confirmation of CP Owoseni’s legacy of excellence, further solidifying his status as a pivotal figure in Nigeria’s security architecture.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer, issued a formal commendation this Saturday, January 17, detailing the distinguished 35-year trajectory of CP Fatai Owoseni (Rtd). From leading high-stakes operations in Lagos and Benue to his strategic contributions at the FCID, CP Owoseni’s career is a blueprint for leadership in the NPF. His impact extended beyond Nigeria’s borders, serving as a vital strategic advisor during UN Peacekeeping missions in Sudan and Angola. This latest religious honour reflects the community’s recognition of a lifetime dedicated to national and international security.

The statement added:
”A scholar and expert, CP Owoseni holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies (Security Sector Management) from the University of Ibadan, a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the University of Benin, and has undergone extensive international professional training in security, emergency management, and conflict resolution.

”In retirement, he continues to shape public safety and policy as Special Adviser on Security and Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund, security consultant to JAMB, principal partner at HK-George Consults Limited, and founder of the Ayesha-Nihinlola Foundation, through which he champions educational and social initiatives for vulnerable communities.
