The Kwara State Police Command has launched an investigation to identify the source of multiple blasts reported in Offa on Christmas night.
Police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed that the incidents occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. on December 25, though authorities are still verifying whether the sounds were caused by an actual explosion.
“Investigations are ongoing to ascertain exactly what happened,” Ejire-Adeyemi stated.
Meanwhile, local authorities have cordoned off the affected areas to allow security agencies to conduct a thorough sweep of the scene. Abiola Babatunde, Chief Press Secretary to the Offa LGA Chairman, added that the council remains fully aware of the situation and is monitoring developments closely.
