Speaking in Abuja at the high-profile 8th National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo, Dr. Akutah’s representative, Mr. Mustapha Zubairu, Director of Inland Transport Services, delivered the key message on sustainable blue economy management.
The summit, operating under the compelling theme, “Tourism and Transportation Connectivity:
Accelerating the Synergy for National Socio-Economic Growth and Development,” provided a dynamic platform for forging stronger ties across the tourism and transport sectors.
In his crucial paper presentation,
“Sustainable Management of Marine Resources for Blue Economy Growth,”
Dr. Akutah issued a stark warning: unsustainable extraction, pollution, illegal fishing (IUU), climate change impacts, and weak governance are actively eroding the oceans’ long-term economic potential.
