Forty people traveling by bus from a Continuous Voter Registration Exercise (CVR) were abducted by kidnappers along the Dekina-Ajiyolo-Anyigba road in Kogi state around 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7.
According to reports, most of the individuals abducted were residents of the Abocho community and environs, who had chartered a bus to transport them to the Dekina LGA headquarters for the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise.
Troops of 12 Brigade Lokoja, in collaboration with the local security network, sprang into action to rescue the abducted persons.
Thirty-one persons were rescued, and the search for the remaining 10 victims (including the driver) continues
Although the police are yet to make a formal statement regarding the abduction.
