Dr. Dorcas Daniel-Bature, FCILT, has been formally declared the winner of the chairmanship election by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Lagos Branch, Nigeria. She won with 67 votes, defeating TPL Soledetun Abdulkarim-Yusuf, FCILT, who received 43 votes.
Announcing the results, Mrs. Juliana Saka, FCILT, the Chairperson of the 2025 CILT Lagos Branch Election, gave a breakdown of the voting figures. She thanked members for their compliance and professionalism.
Saka then announced the results for other positions as follows: Welfare Officer, Mrs. Oladipo (unopposed), who scored 102 votes; Public Relations, Mrs. Umo (unopposed), who scored 100 votes; Financial Secretary, Kelvin Obewu Konumah (unopposed), who scored 95 votes; and Treasurer, Justina Nwosu (unopposed), who scored 102 votes. For Assistant General Secretary, Vincent Nkwocha (unopposed) scored 100 votes, while the position of Branch Chairman was contested by Dr. Dorcas Daniel-Bature, FCILT, who scored 67 votes to defeat TPL, Soledetun Abdulkarim-Yusuf, FCILT, who scored 43 votes.
Dr. Bature will take over from Dr. Bashir Ambi, FCILT, as his two-term tenure is coming to an end.
The election was keenly contested with an encouraging number of voters’ participations during the election.
At the recent election, 129 voters were accredited, and 100 cast ballots to decide eight positions contested by nine candidates, according to Sooth News.
According to reliable sources, the elected officers will be sworn into office at the Institute’s National Conference and Annual General Meeting, taking place from October 22nd to 24th, 2025, at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
On the transparency of the election, some of the critical players that we spoke to have confirmed that” it was very transparent.”
However, TPL Abdulkarim-Yusuf congratulated the winner, Dr. Bature. She posted the congratulatory message on the CILT Lagos Branch WhatsApp platform, saying:

I also congratulate Dr. Dorcas Bature on her victory and wish her success and wisdom as she leads our branch forward together with the new executives.” she said
