BOBOYE DEFEATS ANTHONY TO WIN CILT NIGERIA PRESIDENCY

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, CILT Nigeria has formally declared Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi,OFR, mni, NPom, FCILT, the winner of the Institute’s President Election having scored 177 (ONE Hundred & Seventy Seven)

votes to defeat Dr. Anthony Onoharigho, FCILT, who scored 124 (One Hundred & Twenty-Four) votes.

Announcing the result, the Chairperson of 2025 CILT National Election Mrs. Rakiya N. Nuhu, started by giving the breakdown of the statics figures of the entire votes

Nuhu, then announced results of other positions as follows; Deputy National Vice President, Juliana Saka, FCILT, scored 284 votes, unopposed, Vice President North Sani Mathew, FCILT, scored 233 votes, unopposed, Vice President East, Dr. Monday Ezechukwu, FCILT, scored 234 votes, unopposed and Vice President West, Elisha Ebah, FCILT, scored 238 votes, was also announced unopposed.

Other offices as announced by the Electoral body were, Logistics & Supply Chain Mode was won by Dr. Ajao Oluseyi, FCILT, scored 240 votes, unopposed, Maritime Mode office was won by Salim Bello, FCILT, 242 votes, unopposed, Pipeline Mode office goes to Dr. William Odemwingie, FCILT, scored 233 votes, was also announced unopposed, while  Abdulganiyu Tijjani, CILT, scored 241 votes, was announced for  Road Mode, unopposed, Railway Mode has Dauda Olabayo, CILT, scored 238, unopposed, Aviation Mode has Rosemary Audu, FCILT, scored 273 votes, unopposed and office of Diversity & Inclusion Leadership officer was won by Queen Ajayi, FCILT, who got 279 votes.

The CILT election was keenly contested with an encouraging number of voters  participations during the election.

Professional Members have commended the transparent manner the election was conducted, ”What a real time voting system. A very open and transparent voting for all members. Kudos to the election committee.” a member posted on the professional platform.

The elected officers are to continue from where Barr. Mrs. Mfon. E. Usoro, FCILT and her Council Members tenure expiration.

Sooth News reliably gathered that all the elected officers are to be sworn to office during the Institute’s National Conference/ Annual General Meeting scheduled for 22th -24th October, 2025 at Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

 On the transparency of the election, some of the critical players that we spoke to have confirmed that ” it was very transparent.”
