The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, (CILT) Nigeria has concluded all legitimate arrangements for its National Election on Saturday, 20th September, 2025.
Sooth News came across an announcement via one of the Institute’s platforms shared by the Electoral Committee Chairperson, Mrs. Rakiya Nneka Nuhu, FCILT, read;
” Dear Members. All registered voters should please check their emails for information on accreditation already sent to them. Please check the voters’ list and input your credentials as captured on the list. Thank you.”
Sooth News reliably gathered that the Institute (CILT NG) declared the following offices vacant, namely: President, National Vice President, Vice President West, V-P East, V-P North, V-P South, Pipeline Representative, Maritime Representative, Aviation Representative others are Rail Mode Representative, Road Representative and Inclusion and Diversity Officer (Formerly, Female Rep).
CILT Nigeria has been disseminating information concerning the election as can be seen on;
”CILT Election Manual. pdf, 8 pages 1.0 MB.” The document explained eligibility process, accreditation, voting and evaluation of results.
Sooth News also sighted another document that explained;
” Dear Esteemed Member, as we approach accreditation and voting, here are key points to note:
1. Check Your Name: Visit https://www.ciltnigeria.org/elections to verify if you’re on the list. If you registered, paid your subscription, and your name isn’t listed, contact us at [08035704024, 09073211742] before 11:50 AM today.
2. Accreditation Details: Accreditation starts at 12 PM. Ensure you input exact details (email and phone number) as used during registration. You can confirm your details via the link above. Once successful, you will get a prompt notifying you that you have been successfully accredited. Your voters ID will be sent to your registered email and SMS
3. Voting Portal: The portal will be open for voting from 6 AM to 6 PM on Saturday, 20 September 2025.
4. Accreditation Link: An email with the accreditation link will be sent to all successful registered members.

As at the time of filing this report, members have commenced accreditation ahead of the election scheduled for Saturday, 20th September, 2025. The election is virtual.
Sooth News also learnt that there are only two professional members vying for the position of the number office, (President, CILT NG)
Those aspiring for that office are: Dr. Boboye Olayemi Oyeyemi, OFR, mni, NPom, FCILT, Former Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Dr. Capt. Anthony Onoharigho, FCILT, former President, Nigeria Institute of Shipping, (NIS).
Sooth News was able to secured an impromptu 3 and half minute’s phone interview with the CILT Electoral Committee Chairperson, Mrs. Rakiya Nneka Nuhu where she responded;
” Pls, we beg our professional members to Voters ID, through accreditation. Without accreditation, one will not vote. It is an online voting, it is going to be transparent. The system will automatically dictate and delete double registration. We also request members for good conduct.
”Election portal will be open from 6:00AM to 6:00PM. A zoom link will be released for members to view how transparent the election will be conducted. We are assuring you of the best. Once again, we beg all registered members to go for accreditation to enable them exercise their franchise.” she said
