The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has confirmed that track repairs on the Warri-Itakpe route are almost complete, and train services are set to resume soon.
This was made known on Friday by the Corporation’ s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, that Warri-Itakpe train service was cancelled and temporarily suspended on July 15 and July 16 due to unforeseen technical challenges.
“Operations were temporarily suspended on the train service to enable us carry out urgent and critical track repairs aimed at guaranteeing the safety, reliability, and comfort of passengers,” Unyimadu said.
“The corporation is pleased to announce that work on the affected sections has reached an advanced stage, and normal train movement will recommence in the shortest possible time.
“The NRC deeply appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of passengers during this period of service interruption.”
Unyimadu reaffirmed the NRC’s commitment to safe, efficient rail services and said an announcement on the resumption date will be made subsequently.
