….. Says it will lessen the burden and Minimize Cost
The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Akutah Pius Ukeyima, Esq, MON, FCILT, Ph.D has applauded the Executive Committee of the Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) for its significant contributions to the development of the nation’s maritime industry.
The ES/CEO gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by the Executive Committee of Maritime Association Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN), led by its President, Mr. Godfrey Bivbere, to the NSC head office in Lagos recently. He described the association as a critical stakeholder in the industry, the NSC boss however commended MARAN’s objective reportage and its role in shaping maritime
Dr. Akutah further expressed support for MARAN’s upcoming seminar on War Risk Insurance Premium, stating the Association advocacy for the removal of Risk Insurance is also going to affect Cost, it will minimize the burden., ” as a Council, we are dealing with the effectiveness of cost. Anything that will drive down cost, we are interesting” the ES/CEO also appreciated the Association that the communique of the upcoming seminar will be forwarded to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Lloyd’s, such initiatives are crucial to advancing sectoral reforms and awareness.
He also commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, for his strategic efforts to reposition the maritime industry as a key contributor to Nigeria’s economic growth.
Earlier, in his remarks, Mr. Bivbere informed the NSC of MARAN’s agenda for the seminar and appealed for the Council’s partnership in making the event a success. He also emphasized the importance of NSC’s involvement as the Nation’s Port Economic Regulator in achieving the relevance of the theme for the seminar.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from both parties to further widen collaboration, foster innovation toward achieving a robust maritime industry in the country.
