Thursday, 24th July, 2025 will remain a memorable day in Nigerian Shippers Council as Directors and Heads of Independent Units have signed the 2025 Performance Bonds with the agency’s Executive Secretary /CEO, Akutah Pius Ukeyima, Esq, MON, FCILT, Ph.D. in Lagos.
This is in line with the Federal Government effort towards enhancing accountability, transparency, Efficiency, Integrity and aligned with National Development Goals.
The Performance Bonds were signed during the conclusion of the 2-day Special Management Retreat with a theme; ”Achieving Strategic Intents Through Performance Lens.” The troth will serve as a strong commitment by entire staff of the Council to fulfil their mandate in efficient, accountable, effective and integrity manner in accordance with the Presidential directives.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary/CEO, Akutah Pius Ukeyima, Esq, MON, FCILT, Ph.D tasked the Directors and Heads of Independent Units that, ”we have to succeed, the structure is there for all of us to excel, we must not fail. Embrace the spirit of team work, carry the young ones along, teach them, be liberal but ” Indiscipline must not go unchecked.”
Akutah, also emphasized that we must be seen to help Mr. President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and Hon. Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, for sustainable development. Activities will be fully monitored for empirical results and onward submissions to the Central Results Delivery Co-ordinating Unit, (CCRDCU) of the Presidency through the Ministry.
The Performance Bonds were endorsed by Mrs. Okolue Agatha Ify, Zonal Director South/South, Port Harcourt, Mr. Olurotimi Babatunde Anifowose, Director, Strategic Planning & Research, Zubairu Magaji Mustapha, Director Inland Transport Services, and Mrs. Ogbonnah Margaret. C, Director, Regulatory Services.

Akutah urged the staff to adhere strictly with the pledged, He however thanked those Management Staff that will retire within the year. He wished them success in their future endeavors.
